Civil Intern

A fast-growing civil engineering firm based in the attractive Southern metro area of Charleston, South Carolina, seeks a Civil Intern to participate in projects from concept through design, permitting, and construction.  Cypress Engineering works on a wide range of site development projects, including commercial, healthcare, senior living, educational, industrial, multi-family, and municipal.

 

Mission

Develop and enhance the skills needed to create excellent site development solutions.

 

Key Outcomes

  • Provide detail-oriented support for projects and communicate with other team members to exceed expectations. At times, Interns must independently work to manage and prioritize tasks so that key goals are achieved. 
    • Gather Property Information for various projects
    • Create Conceptual Design Plans for projects
    • Use Civil3D to draft site plans, utility plans, and grading plans for projects
    • Perform Stormwater modeling for Piping systems and Ponds
    • Participate in Site Visits with Project Leaders
    • Create standard processes and procedures for various tasks

 

Competencies and Credentials

  • Anticipated degree in Civil Engineering preferred
  • Familiar with or ready to learn AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, timely, and professional way with other disciplines, leading to alignment of expectations and results
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members, contributing to a positive work environment where team members can flourish
  • Commitment and follow-through on the details that lead to project success
